Young Women in Harmony

Message from Kira Wagner, Region 11 Assistant YWIH Coordinator:

     The following thank you's are NOT in any "order of importance."  Even though Dede oversaw everything and I helped her out - this was would not have been the wonderful even it was without the collective efforts of everyone involved.

     I am concerned that we'll miss acknowledging someone because I didn't get the name.  Please forgive me as I know there were several of you helping throughout the sessions assisting the girls, making sure they knew where they were to go AND that they felt "warm and welcome" - for that you have our deepest appreciation!  Also, there are always others that you never hear about - they do their work in the background - quietly and efficiently.  Their sole satisfaction is the success of the event - you know who you are - thank you!

     Our gratitude and thanks goes out to:

• Jolene Forzetting for all of the room arrangements and modifications as the day went along.  We didn't really know hat to expect the first time through and it went wonderfully.

• Janice Kuppers and her three quartets - what fund to have them there (they WERE the contest :-)  I just wish I had gotten a better picture of her with her girls! (Actually - ANY picture of her with the girls where I could see her face!)

• Francine Sterling brought along a great group of young girls - we're hoping to see some of them back in a quartet next year.

• Billie Thasias for helping us with more girls in the chorus :-)

• Janet Riden - helping out getting all of the water to the girls and making sure they got their t-Shirts.

• Rio and Chrystal Blue for sharing their wonderful harmonies and experiences with the girls.

• Linda Agner, Linda Ninekirk and Nicki Agner from Harmony Showcase Chorus for helping me out as the teaching quartet for the girls :-)

• Francine Sterling's niece, Susie Chevallier designing the T-Shirts and getting them done - they are great and we have something to start with for next year!  Yea!!

• Everyone on this list for being so encouraging and supportive as we figured out how it would all work out :-)

• You'll note that you don't' see Kaitlyn much in the pictures - that is because she was doing an incredible job making the evening festivities for the girls and their hostess'/families something they would remember for a LONG time.  With the gift bags, balloons, decorations, the mountain of pizza and soda - being smart enough to get Stephanie's help and working with her to get the cake to us - the party was a tremendous success.  And best of all Kaitlyn pretty much just ran with it -- I love that :-)

• Stephanie Caughell from Gimmee Some Sugar ) for backing up Kaitlyn and the beautiful work of art in the cake that we had - we didn't want to cut it - (http://www.gimmeesomesugar.com/ it was so pretty (you'll see a couple of pictures on the site).

• As the YWIH Coordinator, Dede was wonderful with the girls - I loved getting to watch her work with them.  The end product on stage was pretty wonderful - as everyone that saw them agreed!
